She cast her eyes across the waves
and watched as the sun danced over the water.
She thought about
how she was like the ocean,
carefree and calm.
But then she realised what else she could be.
A storm of destruction,
danger and fear,
the waves crashing and bashing
and destroying everything near.
The sea may glisten but that’s not all it can be.
She may be pretty,
but her mind destroys all she can see.
She can fall so recklessly in love
and just like the sea, wash it back to shore
the second she gets bored.
And that’s how she knew
she was stronger than she first thought,
a beautiful girl with a throw away thought.
A beautiful girl cast her eyes out to shore.
The storm of the sea showing her what she could be.
