Another week has passed and so it is time again for another haiku prompt. It’s so interesting to see people’s take on the challenge words- which this week are Strike and Hunger. If you would like to have a go at the weekly haiku challenge, you can Join in here. The link will take you to see the full rules and also other people’s work, so you can have a read and see what other people make of the prompt. That’s the best part if you ask me as everyone is so different and unique. Every writes about different life experiences that have effected them. Creativity is something that amazes me. Anyway enough on that here’s my take:
It always strikes me,
How hunger is a problem,
We could fix, but don’t.
There are people who live in this world who aren’t as lucky as most of us. Everyday life to us comes with problems that seem so microscopic compared to other peoples. While we worry that we’re late for work or the store has run out of our favourite foods, people are wondering when their next meal will be. Hunger is something we can fix. We can work, pulling humanity together, humans looking after other humans, to end hunger.
Think about the people around you and how lucky we are to be fortunate to have a roof over our heads, clean water and food. How we have an education.
Some people don’t have the same privilege. Some people don’t have that safety.
Let’s all look after other humans together. Let’s end these world issues. One at a time let’s face them all.
