Call Your Name

It is cold and dark,
I stumble out of the light,
The glowing ring of safety,
The street has to protect me.

I walk down the road,
Pulling my cardigan close,
Covering my vulnerabilities,
You are nowhere to be seen.

I am scared and alone,
Frightened of the dark,
It's all one word game,
I call out your name.
Silence is all that is left.

This is something a little bit different then what I usually write. I like structured rhyme schemes and syllable work whereas this is a lot more free reflecting that of conscious thought.
