Toxic Juice

A poem about how you don't need to follow the crowd and 'drink the toxic drinks' that society lay out for us. Just because you see others do it doesn't mean you should fall into the trap.

Ready The Soldiers

This is a call to the human race, The biggest battle that we will face, Ready the soldiers, we're going to war, This is something we should all stand for. The mechanical battle begins today, That of the past may just be the best way. The inflation of technology, a war must commence, Line up... Continue Reading →

Reflections

She walks down a path, There's a clearing in the wood, A large lake lies still. She sits by the side, Evaluating the life, Under the surface. For under the still, Is a world we never knew, The surface hides it. She looks at her face, Reflected in the water, More than meets the eye. As under the layer, Of the girls exterior, Is a life she hides. For just... Not Lukewarm

This poem is all about discovering a love that makes you feel alive, not just settling for something lukewarm. Love is an emotion that is meant to make you feel something. Find one that makes you feel alive.

Cut and Paste

The first day of National Poetry Writing Month. This is a poem about fighting beauty standards set out by magazines. Similarly to how magazines 'Cut and Paste' parts of the models body they like to create this perfect image, this poem tells the story of a girl who wishes to cut and paste her own version of beauty onto her body. It is about the battle we face trying to live up to unrealsitic beauty standards.

The Colour of Love

She sees everyone, In all different shades of grey, But when she saw you, She could not believe her eyes, You was all different colours. Your smile shined deep red, Your hair was a mousy brown, Your cheeks blushed with pink, And your eyes a green sea blue. The colours bounced off of you. And... Continue Reading →

Fog, Covered, Arms reaching, Man made of mist, Trying to grab me, He's got into my head, My thoughts all begin to blur, The man of the mist coming for me, My judgment is clouded, I can't see, My depression is catching up with me. I battle against the man made of mist, I beg... Continue Reading →

Homesick

So the worst part about being away from home is feeling homesick. Unfortunately for me I happen to feel homesick an awful lot. I don't know how to cope with that feeling, I don't know what I can do to make it better. Nothing I seem to do helps me face it. I want to... Continue Reading →

Calm Before The Storm

She cast her eyes across the waves and watched, As the sun danced over the water. She thought about how she was like the ocean,Carefree and calm. But then she realised what else she could be. A storm of destruction, danger and fear. The waves crashing and bashing, destroying everything near. The sea may glisten but that’s... Continue Reading →
